Love Local Produce: a growing local enterprise

The NTU market is all about bringing people together. Greeting and meeting local traders, supporting and showcasing local charities, recognising sustainable efforts of the university, whilst joining up for one day a month for everyone at NTU to enjoy!

Our stall holders are our greatest assets, with Camille and Tom from the Rustic Crust being a hit with students, selling their freshly baked pizzas out of their van-turned-oven. There’s always treats and treasures to be found at the market, whether it be a vintage levi jacket, birthday card, or simply a lovely bag of fudge. All stall holders are all local to Nottingham, with a local farm and fresh produce making the market a perfect place to pick up some low carbon goods!

We always have an engagement stall to share news from the sustainable side of things going on at the university, which is a great way to shout about all the things we’ve been up to. It also gives us the chance to tell students about the Foodshare allotment project at Clifton Campus, which needs more student volunteers all the time.

And we’re all set to move the NTU Market too – with a trial market taking place at Clifton Campus and Brackenhurst Campus during Global Week and Fairtrade Fortnight at the end of February. Sharing the message that local is fantastic, not only in quality but for the planet too!
